Christian Victimhood I tend to be an emotional guy. Being so emotional, I know how important it is to keep my anger in check, especially since I have a family history of angry men. I have enough self control to never physically harm anyone, but I also know that my pen soaks in the deadliest poison when my fury is brewing. It becomes especially difficult to control my anger when the issue of Christian victimhood arises, especially as it relates to homosexuality. I apologize in advance for the vitriolic nature of this post in particular. I love my God, and although I dealt with a bout of agnosticism for nearly a decade, I eventually came back to the love of Christ. I realized that Christ never stopped loving me and that the only reason I left Christianity was because of the way Christians treated me upon coming out. I believe there is a lot of hope to be found within Christianity, but that the love and hope of Christ is too often traded in for hatred and misunderstanding.

Can there be sex across political lines? In no way am I a Trump Supporter, but I can clearly understand why the Republican party, in particular, has been so popular in history and especially since more modern Republicans begin to evolve further from their traditional values. During Thanksgiving , I was scrolling through the socials and kept finding many posts about people proclaiming they screamed at Republican family members over the holiday weekend. Was this a little far-fetched? Our voices are much louder on social media than they are in reality.

Andrew Napolitano has managed to keep his personal life entirely private as he has never talked regarding his dating, affair, relationship, and girlfriend. He must be married and might have children as well but as he has not revealed any details on them, nothing can be said with assurance.

These days that word is mostly used negatively. It is primarily used to mean making harsh, even oppressive judgements against people based on their sex, or their sexuality, or their ethnic origins. The more positive — and in some senses truer — meaning of the word discriminate is getting lost. And that truer meaning is the cultured ability to perceive or note the differences between things.

The use of discrimination in a quite honourable and even clever way, as a means of making judgements about the different values attached to different things, is being buried beneath the more common use of the D-word to describe every slight against individuals or groups. That is a shame, I think, because we really need to recover the ability to discriminate. And the reason we need to do that is because we live in an era of what we might call phony equality.

Robinson Manifestos are not meant to be sophisticated things. They are declarations, not dissertations. The manifesto is no place for nuance or pragmatism, for thinking things through and resolving differences. The manifesto is the medium of one who has already worked everything out and is compelled to shout it to the world. Oddly enough, the manifesto appears to have switched sides over the last century.

Once they were the provenance the revolutionary left, from the Communists to the Surrealists.

Unlike Catholics and mainline Protestants, evangelicals had tended to stay out of secular politics, believing it to be irredeemable. Today a far-right coalition of conservative Catholics and evangelicals perceive that they have lost the moral battle against LGBT equality, particularly same-sex marriage. And so, as described in a lengthy report released Monday by the think tank Political Research Associates and chiefly authored by this writer, they are waging a multi-pronged battle against LGBT rights, not on substantive moral grounds but on the premise that equality for gays restricts the religious liberty of Christians to discriminate against them.

Of course, this is rhetoric, not reality. Yet unlike recent anti-gay sloganeering, the religious-liberty campaign makes use not of theological arguments but of civil libertarian ones, and as such is much harder to recognize than the usual Bible-quoting bigotry. Indeed, Catholic-funded organizations such as The Becket Fund—named, not coincidentally, for the archbishop who chose martyrdom rather than obedience to the secular law—and the U. Conference of Catholic Bishops have co-opted the work of respected law professors such as Douglas Laycock of Virginia.

At the vice presidential debate last fall, Rep. Religious liberty is a code word, like family values. Though Laycock and other academics may be sincere, the Family Research Council, Christian Legal Society, Ethics and Public Policy Institute, and the legion of other Christian right organizations are chasing the same bugaboos as ever—gay rights, abortion, prayer-free schools—and simply repurposing an old, racist rhetoric to fight the same social battles as always.

Not all religious-liberty activists are Christians; a handful of Orthodox Jews have joined the campaign, providing a Jewish fig leaf for an otherwise hard-right theocratic Christian movement. This strategy has worked. Several states include religious exemptions to nondiscrimination law and same-sex marriage laws.

A blog devoted to issues related to aging and intergenerational dating in the gay community. In reference to a recent post, I received the following question: November 29, at 6: Coz it sounds like it. Try double dating with some friends who happen to be gay and in a relationship, yes you can bring your hetero date along, hopefully they won’t cringe if you behave. Learn, re-socialize yourself. Older Men for Younger Men By: This is not a scientific study, but rather a summary of observations I’ve made about younger men for older men over the past two years while working for an online gay dating service. Also, I will only discuss with adults over 18 that express an interest in intergenerational gay dating.

While working on an online relationships site, I’ve noticed an fascinating occurrence of intergenerational gay dating. I’m not sure how many gay men are attracted to other adult men of significantly different ages. But I’ve definitely noticed that there are a lot of mature men seeking less mature men, and plenty of younger men who want to meet older men as well. Someone might have detailed statistics on how many men are into intergenerational gay relationships, but through discussions and contacts, I’ve heard some very interesting insights.

Some younger guys tell me that they’ve been attracted to older men since they first realized they had same sex attractions. Likewise, they often report sensing that many older men seemed to be similarly attracted to them. Younger guys who are attracted to mature men have told me that they sometimes feel alone with these feelings, and that even their closest pals don’t sympathize so much.

I’ve even spoken to one guy in his 40’s who tells me that as he grows older, he’s attracted exclusively to guys 20 years or more his senior! The guys around my age and even some older who are attracted to older men have told me that what attracts them most for younger men for older men is that they are more sophisticated, experienced, and level-headed than others in their generation.

Conversely, I’ve also had some in-depth discussions with a couple of older men for younger men.

Robert Capozzi ac, seems odd to compare caucus and general election vote totals. Nov 04,  · Anonymous said I too am a libertarian, but I tend to hew to the Jeffersonian ideal of liberty: never let the banks, the corporations, the unions, and especially, the government get so big that they can thwart the aspirations of the general populace simply to meet their own selfish ends.

Capitalist Pig Absolutely love this entry! Erin Good read and entirely relatable; when I was dating my husband, some girls I worked with were horrified to learn I was seeing a man who listed Atlas Shrugged as one of his favorite books. I think 2, 3, and 5 hit the closest to home. Han Solo All wrong…these are poseurs. Real libertarians know that the USA is a lost cause, and live happily not caring a thing about what team red, or team blue argue about.

They go about their lives, living them to their fullest, enjoying their interests, hobbies, and bettering themselves while ignoring idiotic discussions about american politics and only humor people they know who seem like they know what they are talking about when they spout off what they heard from Rush Limbaugh or on MSNBC.

I just want to make sure that partisan, cynical feelings are not mistaken for actual thoughts or representations of reality. It may also be worth noting that the reversible Mad Libs-type script for caustic rhetoric, as demonstrated above, is of a kind with the hollow nonsense media and campaigns use to distract partisan voters, thereby subverting republican legitimacy, properly derided by many, given republican ideals.

Crissy Brown This is probably the most creative comment response I have seen so far. Well done, I found it quite entertaining.

Dating is all about three things: location, location, location. And certain cities across the countries are absolute hotbeds for eligible bachelors looking for Mrs.

I expected this answer from the guy I had been casually seeing. Once, we had a heated argument when I said offhandedly that people who could not afford to care for children should not have them not a policy prescription, just a profession of personal ethics. After that, I tried to avoid political discussions altogether. So his answer did not come as much of a surprise when, a few weeks after we broke up, I asked him for his reasons. So much for dating a proud, progressive, and ostensibly tolerant liberal.

My reputation preceded me. Most gay people are liberal, and this is somewhat understandable; the left has embraced gay rights as a part of its political agenda, whereas the right, with some important exceptions, has not. But for many gays, liberalism is just as much a visceral, reactionary tendency as it is a positive affirmation of political belief. Thus, their homosexuality dictates their political views on everything.

For these gays, it is just as much a part of the “coming out” process to be a loud liberal as a proud homosexual. Being part of a community that is so intolerant of their views, gay conservatives can be embittered, patronizing, and castigatory of their gay brothers. Luckily, I am now dating someone who, though more liberal than I, appreciates my political independence.
